3D Robot Valentine and Gift

For Valentines Day this year, I decided not to make my husband a card. I make cards all the time and I just wanted to do something different. So, I decided to make him this awesome 3D robot! 
This is the last robot on the Cricut Robotz cartridge and one of four 3D robots. I was a little intimidated at first but it was a lot easier to put together than I thought it would be. I cut everything out at 11.5″ (which took three sheets of 12″x12″ paper) scored all the edges (which is essential for getting clean precise folds) and put everything together with my ATG gun. 
I named him Damien the Devilish Love Machine because his antennas kind of look like devil horns. Well, that…and because alliterations are awesome. 
I wanted to stamp “Be Mine” on his screen but I didn’t have a stamp that would work so I went with this one instead. I figured this could be his default screen since he’s a “love” machine. Or maybe I was over-thinking the whole thing… :=)
I altered a box of chocolates to go with it but I’m not crazy about how it turned out…
The heart doily is cut from the Lovestruck cartridge at 10″, the tags are cut from Storybook at 6″ and 6.5″ inches and layered on top of each other and the robot is cut at 5.5″. I added a white brad and some light pink ribbon and attached the tag to the top of the chocolates.
I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I spent the night cleaning out and re-organizing my craft room  and now I have a whole list of new projects to start. :=)

  1. Oh my gosh this is just fabulous. I absolutely love it. What did hubby think? I'm so glad to see this project because there is a similar 3-D cut on the Toy Story cartridge of Buzz Lightyear that caught my atttention. Now you've inspired me to try it.
