“Glam Rock Baby” 12×12 Double Layout

Edit: This project was featured in the February 15, 2011 issue of the Cricut Chirp!
I took these pictures of my niece a few months ago when she and her parents were here for a visit. She was wearing a pink polka dress with a pink skull appliqué and matching black and hot pink sneakers and I knew that I wanted to make her a matching layout. The layout is 12″x12″ and the photos are 5″x7″. I like to use big, full-sized photos in my layouts whenever I can.

The skyline is from Plantin Schoolbook. I used my gypsy to lengthen the cut to 12″ and added a shadow underneath. The skyline has always been my favorite cut on this cartridge and since these photos were taken at my favorite restaurant uptown, it worked perfectly for this layout.

All of the stars on this layout were cut from the Rock Princess cartridge at 3″, 3.5″ and 4″ and all of the cuts are popped up on foam.

The skull was cut from the Rock Princess cartridge at 2.75″ and the bones were cut from the Indie Art cartridge at 5″.

The title and layers were cut from Rock Princess at 3″…

…and the sneaker was cut at 2.75″.

Products used:
Cricut cartridges: Rock Princess, Indie Art and Platin Schoolbook
Paper: Recollection Open-Stock and Recollections cardstock

  1. I love this page. The layout that you put together is so cut but so retro. Your niece is a little doll and this page fits her and her outfit so well. Also you do awesome work. You are very good at putting your ideas together and laying your page out. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

  2. How did you do the bow on the skull? I have the Rock Princess cartridge and I am new to this, but when I cut it out I just get the bottom layer and not the detailed layer. I can't figure it out! In the book it has that the bow is the layer 2, but when I do that I only get the bottom portion like I mentioned above.HELP!
